The first time I properly felt a deck of playing cards was when I bought a deck from Spain during a holiday. I was at a souvenir shop, and those cards looked the most interesting amongst everything else. There was no real reason why I chose those cards. They were high quality, waterproof playing cards with interesting designs. After I picked up those cards, I had spent my free time during the holiday to learn a few simple magic tricks and flourishes, which has evolved into advanced tricks and sleight of hand.
The first magic trick that I learned was a variation on 3 card monte. This trick required me to use 2 normal, random playing cards, and one blank card, for a total of 3 cards. My job was to make the player believe that all the cards were blank, which was told as a story. Looking back, I’m proud to see how much progress that I have made in a span of a year. Now I can do more advanced tricks, involving more decks, sleight of hand and forcing cards. I’m proud to say that most of these tricks can be done using any deck and is entirely up to the magicians’ skills
