To simplify things, cardistry is showing off flourishes, ranging from simple ones to complex ones. This skill requires finger dexterity, and lots and lots of practice. Many things can be considered as a flourish. For example, the riffle shuffle could be considered as one, despite how simple it is. Slightly difficult flourishes involve spinning, balancing and fast motions. One example of a common flourish is called the 5 faces of Sybil, where 5 faces of the deck will be shown at the end. Others involve flourishes like the spring, the faro shuffle, and the double fan. I enjoy cardistry as it gives me something to do in my free time, while also being able to impress my friends and family.
